A Clinical Trial of Vitamin D for Bone Health in People with NF1

If you are an adult with NF1, between ages 25 and 40, you may be eligible to take part in a study on bone health.

The purpose of the research is to see if we can maintain or improve bone health in adults who have NF1 by giving them vitamin D and calcium supplements for two years.

As you may know, osteoporosis (loss of bone density that can lead to bone breakage, spine curvature, and other problems) is a common concern in NF1. We hope to show whether or not vitamin D supplements will protect people's bones.

For more information on this study, please see the information and consent form here.

If you have questions or would like to participate, please contact the study nurse, Patricia Birch, at 604-875-2000 ext. 5622, or by email: Patricia.Birch@ubc.ca
